Sorry to rain on your parade, but Cowbirds are parasitic and nomadic. The mothers will lay their eggs in the nest of other species and fly somewhere else, leaving the victim to incubate and raise their young. The reason for this breeding technique was their feeding habits. Cowbirds are named as they are because early on, they would follow herds of bison ("cows") and didn't have time to raise a brood before the herd moved on.
