Field Notes

Description:

feathery and soft feel, not sure what this is

Habitat:

pacific coast rainforest

Notes:

I spotted this under a bench along the main trail in San Cipriano forest reserve. I've put it in Arthropods but this may be a type of fungi, I'm just not sure.

huh? ...partly an eyelash? how weird!
Okay, thanks Lauran. I've moved it to Fungi for now. Looks like it was bigger before with some of it missing on the left side of it.
This does look more fungus-like than a larva. It doesn't seem to have a body or head.
