Description:

Peziza badia is a species of apothecial fungus belonging to the family Pezizaceae.
Appearing as irregular dark brown cups up to 8 cm in diameter

Habitat:

Appearing often in small groups, on soil in woodland. The species tends to be seen more frequently on sandy soils and favours bare ground, e.g. at the sides of paths.
This is a frequently observed European species with scattered records from many other parts of the world.

Notes:

Spotted in a public garden near my house

Thanks J,these show up from "nothing" more than 20,incredible,i go to this super market every day,i would never imagine that they grow so fast,they are stil there,i have to check them today :-)

thanks Lipase,after seeing the Peziza badia pictures i'am sure you are rigth :-) thanks for one more id. i find these today in the supermarket garden,imagine :-) a big group spread in the grass,last picture show a bit of the place
