S Frazier and sunswimer02 are right, Ange. Also, anoles can change colors to an extent, like chameleons.
All 17 or so lizards in Hawaii are non-native. Anolis carolinensis is well established there. It can be/is at times brown.
@sunswimer02 I usually spot the green anole but this time it's brown but similar size
Hm. That looks like a green anole (also known as a Carolina anole), Anolis carolinensis. I didn't think they were in Hawaii?? But with everything else that's been introduced...?
