Field Notes

Description:

Cortinarius is a genus of mushrooms. It is suspected to be the largest genus of agarics, containing over 2000 different species and found worldwide. A common feature among all species in the genus Cortinarius is that young specimens have a cortina (veil) between the cap and the stem, hence the name, meaning curtained. Most of the fibers of the cortina are ephemeral and will leave no trace once gone, except for limited remnants on the stem in some species. All have a rusty brown spore print. The common names cortinar and webcap refer to members of the genus.

ok,thanks again, the first link ,is not the first photo, you have to scrool down to see it,it's one photo more down on the page, however, from what i see the better is toi' put him as a cortinarius ,unknowed species :-) mushrooms are very tricky to id
Thanks Pouihi,i based my id on these pictures: http://www.google.pt/url?sa=i&rct=j&q=Cortinarius+violaceus&source=images&cd=&cad=rja&docid=bqYu3TjEqf3QQM&tbnid=KYZKRp66-g0GdM:&ved=&url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.flickr.com%2Fphotos%2Ffranco_unico%2F8079269709%2F&ei=Dc1rUdPJMcfe7Aan8YHgAw&bvm=bv.45175338,d.ZGU&psig=AFQjCNG_auLZH8-wfY-8qvl4a38p1XNw8g&ust=1366105742384541 http://greenacreswithtwyla.blogspot.com/2010/11/purple-mushroom-green-thumb-and-i-am.html http://travel-photos.curiouscatblog.net/2009/12/ i remark on the scales but when i saw these pics on the google images,id us a c.violaceus,i thougth that could be a variation inside the species
Thanks very much Pouihi,i search from google images and i think is a Cortinarius violaceus :-)
Thanks J,i recolt this one to see the gills detail that Pouihi talk about ,to see if the id is rigth and the place was to much "exposed" so it was a bit "showup" if i go there and trie to take pictures of the gills without cuting him,so,this one i haved to "sacrifice" him(it's for science:),now i'am waiting for Pouihi opinion, she is very knowledge with fungi :-)
Wow! Wonderful shots! I really like the detail on the gills in photos four and five.
Pouihi,i adeed two more photos of the mushroom,he have in the gils a brownish collour,do you think now after seeing them that is a purple curtinatus?
Yeah :-) in my area people know me by the crazy guy that take photos on most bizarre places :-) i carrie the compact camera almost for every place i go,fungi and plantes show up even in the most urban places
Hahaha :D you must be a weirdo to take photos around supermarkets lol :D
Thanks injica,i couldn't smell it because i maked this spotting in the supermarket garden and the safety guy was looking at me with a very strange face(what this guy is doing in under a tree?) ;-) so i make a quick spotting
Frozen orange juice hmm what a description of a smell, I can't tell the difference is smell between the frozen and not-frozen one :) However, I love its color but probably in the combination with a nice smell seems even nicer! :)
Wow, Antonio, the mushroom's got such an interesting texture.
Thanks again Pouihi, great info.like that is going to be more easy to confirm :-)
thanks Pouihi,i'll follow the mushroom during a few more days to see him in a more developed stage,so i can take pictures from the gills and maybee cut him to see well,is in a public garden and thanks again for the comment
