Field Notes

Description:

The eastern gray squirrel's average lifespan is 11-12 months. This individual was spotted eating the seeds from a sweetgum tree.

Habitat:

This individual likely lives in and around the American sweetgum tree (Liquidambar styraciflua). Eastern gray squirrels are abundant in Eastern North America.

Notes:

It appears that this squirrel had no valentine. I spotted it on Valentine's Day.
