Field Notes

Description:

A sturdy salmon pink mushroom with a white bloom in rings on the caps and in a beautiful lacy network on the stipe. The cap was broadly dome shaped with curled margins and a slightly depressed centre. Gills were crowded, almost decurrent and an orange colour.
Droplets of moisture were seen on the stipe. When cut, the cap showed deep orange damp patches. The centre turned a deep green.

Habitat:

Spotted growing in dirt under a pine tree

Notes:

Very excited about this spotting -there were about 8 of these in the one patch. They are stated to be edible and stated to be one of the most delicious mushrooms. I wish I had someone with me who could confirm this !!
