Field Notes
Description:
The body feathers are generally blackish and dark brown overall with a coppery sheen. Adult males have a large, featherless, reddish head, red throat, and red wattles on the throat and neck.
Habitat:
The wild turkey is found in central and eastern North America in open woodland areas. I just walked around a corner and this male was displaying for 2 females that weren't even paying attention to him. Poor guy!
