Field Notes

Description:

Cute little weevil about 5 mm long. The grooves that hold the antennae when it bunches up for protection is visible in the first picture. Family Curculionidae.

Habitat:

Came to an ultraviolet light. Finca Argovia, Ruta de Cafe, Soconusco area of southern Chiapas, Mexico. About 1 hour northeast of Tapachula.
