Field Notes

Description:

This attractive fern had thin wiry rachis and midrib with leaflets like teeth of a saw. The whole plant felt stiff but had a soft look as it clambered on neighbouring plants.
The underside did not have any spore sacs.

Habitat:

Spotted near a lake in a well-shaded area.
Seen growing in South East Asia, New Guinea, Australia and New Zealand.

Notes:

A very attractive fern
Also called Parasol Fern and Umbrella Fern
