Description:

native to the north-west coast of north america, oregon grape has been widely cultivated elsewhere as a garden plant. occasionally it naturalizes in the wild. this specimen was spotted in Pennsylvania.

oregon grape superficially resembles holly (genus ilex) but they are unrelated.
