Field Notes

Description:

Large sea turtle with smooth carapace. Named for the color of its fat, rather than visual color. Populations have been dramatically reduced forcing it to be considered endangered.

Habitat:

Reef in Nassau, Bahamas

Notes:

While snorkeling in the Bahamas, these green sea turtles would come in and feed on the plant life. At one time, I had six of these beauties swimming around me! Such a peaceful moment.
