Field Notes

Habitat:

This moth was spotted in the rice mill backyard, on Jute (Corchorus aestuans L.), known in the Philippines as Saluyot . Plant information from http://www.stuartxchange.org/Saluyot.....

Notes:

The distribution information, in Wikipedia's article, is stated as "native to the Old World tropics". That is, no doubt, correct, but rather too general. However, in https://inpn.mnhn.fr/espece/cd_nom/458064/tab/carte?lg=en....
there is a distribution map, which clearly shows that Anticarsia irrorata is present in the Philippines.
