Description:

A majestic bird, this white-bellied sea eagle was patrolling the beach (see photo 4). The eagle is resident from India and Sri Lanka through Southeast Asia to New Guinea and Australia on coasts and major waterways. It breeds and hunts near water, and fish form around half of its diet.

Habitat:

Patrolling the sea coast of northern New Guinea (Sarmi regency, Papua province, Indonesia).

Notes:

Not a great set of shots but I wanted to record the species for the area.
