Description:

The endemic Island Fox is found on the Channel Islands off the coast of California. It's closely related to the mainland gray fox (Urocyon cinereoargenteus), but are smaller, about the size of a house cat. This fox was spotted on Santa Cruz Island, making it the subspecies Urocyon littoralis santacruzae.

Habitat:

Channel Islands, highly vegetated areas
