Field Notes

The wings and body are black with a large white fore wing patch and a red hind wing patch. The wingspan ranges from 2.2 to 2.7 cm. Host plants are various types of grapevines. (information from Wikipedia)

Habitat:

City park

Notes:

I wish these shots were better. It was an incredibly windy day and this little moth was getting blown all over the place. I had a hard time holding steady in the gusts. (Thanks to J, the moth whiz, for the ID!)
