Description:

The flowers and fruit may be eaten raw or cooked. The root is used externally to treat various skin conditions, stop bleeding, arthritis, and hemorrhoids. Internally is useful in controlling a variety of inflammations, including those associated with infection, arthritis, or neuritis. Additionally, it is an excellent blood purifier and useful in lowering blood pressure. The root when combined with water and lathered is a soap substitute, and reported to help with hair loss.

Notes:

The juice of the roots can also be used to stun fish.
