Description:

There was a lot of noise coming from a desert nettle and when we took a closer look, we found this little guy stuck in the plant and trying hard to escape. (In the last photo you can see his wing tip folded back and stuck to a leaf.) So we helped un-stick his wing only to discover he was missing a leg! We assume that is why he was stuck because there were plenty of grasshoppers about and lots of these plants but he was the only critter stuck.

Habitat:

coastal desert wadi

Thanks! Since helping this little guy out, I've also seen a hawk moth and a dragonfly caught in these plants...so I guess it wasn't just his missing leg causing the problem.
So glad you helped him out! He has beautiful striped eyes.
