Field Notes

Description:

The male of the species was about 5 mm long very active and had bright blue-green median eyes. The abdomen had a single white stripe oneach side . The cepaholthorax also showed white stripes along the sides and a star shaped mark on the midline.
The first and second legs looked thick with dark hairs. The male also had pale pedipalps. <br> The female was silghtly larger and robust looking. It was mostly brown with pale lateral stripes (pic 5)

Habitat:

Spotted on low vegetation in a nature reserve. There were many pairs out that day. This pair was on the same plant and eyeing each other.

Notes:

This species is possibly undescribeda nd has been nicknamed Tony. The reference has good information on the species. <br> The eyes were spectacular and it's apity I couldn't get a clearer shot. <br> Family: Salticidae
