While walking in a frozen Atlantic White Cedar Swamp today, I came across this cedar tree with over a dozen holes in a row made by a woodpecker. It took 2 pictures to get most of them.

ya i agree with venusflytrapp2000 pileated woodpeckers nest holes are more oval and larger than all the other common species.
it looks like pileated woodpecker. not 100% sure but looks like it.
