Congratulations arlanda, this beautiful little butterfly is our rangers-selected Spotting of the Week! "This rather striking Provence Hairstreak butterfly (Tomares ballus) is our Spotting of the Week! This small butterfly is found from the South of France through Spain to North Africa, and can be seen flying already early in the year". Thanks a lot, Ashley. It is a great joy to be nominated for the SOTW
Your spotting has been nominated for the Spotting of the Week. The winner will be chosen by the Project Noah Rangers based on a combination of factors including: uniqueness of the shot, status of the organism (for example, rare or endangered), quality of the information provided in the habitat and description sections. There is a subjective element, of course; the spotting with the highest number of Ranger votes is chosen. Congratulations on being nominated!
Yes JamesPriest2, it is a bit shocking such a hairy butterfly
Beautiful! You would think it had some type of mould on it at first glance
