Field Notes

Description:

These brown Skippers with white markings on the upper side were all about on the under sides of the leaves in deep shade. Some have a white band on the underside of the hind wing and some do not. They were about 3 cm long.
Family Hesperiidae.

Habitat:

Forested areas of the Miguel Alvarez del Toro Zoo, Tuxtla Gutierrez.

Thank you bayucca. It sure seems to fit into this genus, by distribution it could be N. comitana or N. nikko, but I never got a good shot of both the varieties from the top.
