Description:
Note rufous neck showing in photos. Whitish undefined stripe along upper lip.
Habitat:
Widespread and common in sclerophyl forest and coastal scrub of south eastern Australia including Tasmania where it has longer more shaggy fur than on the mainland.
Notes:
Called Bennett's Wallaby in Tasmania where we saw this one. It was feeding in the brush beside the trail to Wine-glass Bay in Freycinet Park. They will eat seed pods as well as grazing on a wide variety of other plant material.
