Description:
Upright racemes of two-lipped white flowers. Height about 1 m.
Habitat:
Growing in an old wall near Aeropagus hill (NW of the Acropolis of Athens). Native to the Mediterranean region.
Notes:
Genus name comes from the Greek words anti meaning like and rhis meaning a nose or snout in allusion to the appearance of the flower which looks like a dragon's snout. Modern Greek common names: Σκυλάκια (=little dogs), Λυκόστομα (=wolf's mouth).
