Field Notes

Description:

A juvenile yellow bellied racer in my garage. As soon as I moved a box it hissed and flopped over to play dead. I put it outside without much of a fuss. Very cool snake. Love native snake species.

Habitat:

Native to the Eastern US.

Notes:

This is a subspecies of racer snake, the eastern black racer is another common subspecies.
