Field Notes

Description:

•They eat fruit, invertebrates, other small animals and bird eggs.
•Females can live in groups of 15 to 30 animals. The males are usually solitary.
•When they sound the alarm call, they climb in trees, and then drop down to the ground and disperse.

Habitat:

Forests
-I saw these coatis in Rio de Janeiro (Brazil)

Thank you! You probably saw a white-nosed coati. I've never seen a white-nosed, but a lot of ring-tailed coatis
I saw a coati (not sure it was a ringtail) in Costa Rica. Never got a good photo...I envy you doing a better job of getting one than I was able. Nice job, Bruno!
