Description:

A Lixus vilis weevil, spotted on a erodium plant, in Anavros torrent riverbanks, Volos city, Greece. The species is known for it's bright red color and side straps, and also few white spots at the base of the elytra. The larva is feeding on erodium plant species, and it is a pretty common and easily identified weevil species of Southern Europe.
