Field Notes

Description:

Reddening Lepiota! Lepiota americana. Very exciting, growing all handsomelike on a little front lawn on Crown St and Brooklyn Ave. On the same lawn some other Agaricus are growing *and* they have fly agaric lawn ornaments. The base was white at first, then bruised yellow, then turned brownish-red, white spore print. bruised all brown-red up the stem. This mushroom basically changed colors before my eyes.

Habitat:

grassy lawn in Crown Heights, BK, NYC

Notes:

big pretty mushroom.
