Field Notes

Description:

This is a beautiful bird so well camouflaged in greenish feathers as to be invisible even when large flocks feed on the fruits. Eyes are attractively violet in colour. Feet are yellow.

Habitat:

As I was watering the potted plants on my rooftop terrace I heard this fluttering sound and saw the branches of the Lagerstroemia tree move quite violently....this bird was hanging like a bat. It was stuck. After some slight attempts it just hung there. I rushed downstairs...the lowest branch was so high that I had to jump to grasp it. Anyway that had the effect of freeing the bird and it flew away. The habitat is strange because this bird is very wary...and hardly descends to medium sized trees usually I see it high up on older trees. Anyway, the story had a happy ending.

Notes:

I think I might begin a Mission on Animals caught in peculiar situations...Good idea?
