Field Notes

Description:

Tan with numerous white spots, 10-11 brown body bars; dorsal fin translucent with white spots on rays; males have long front dorsal rays.
Males flashes their dorsal rays (Pic#1) to attracts females and/or to scare off other males.

Habitat:

Among sandy bottoms, form loose aggregations just above sand, buries themselves in the sand when alarmed or threatened.
