Field Notes

Description:

The pretty little Zebra Dove, about eight inches long, is one of the most common birds on Kauai. It is a soft grey with brownish stripes and scales, has a powder-blue bill and blue skin around its eyes, and pinkish-gray feet and legs.

Habitat:

It tends to prefer somewhat open areas like parks, but these were feeding in the sand at the top edge of Ke'e Beach.
