Field Notes
Description:
First frog eggs in our little pond. I am not sure of the ID as most frogs breed in the spring or early summer, often with the onset of warm, rainy weather. Males gather in ponds, pools, and other wet areas. Males make their presence known with loud noises (croaks) that attract the females of the same species. Eggs are laid in the water, sometimes attached to vegitation and undergo development without parental care. After a variable period of time (a week to a month), the eggs hatch into tadpoles.
