Description:
Very large cicada, black with dark green and brown pattern on its head and torso, abdomen has a large white spot on each side. I first assumed it was Pomponia linearis, but P. linearis does not display the white spot on the abdomen and have several noticeable spots on its wings, this specimen has no spots that I can see. Furthermore it's not P. merula as the white spots on its abdomen is not identical to this specimen and it also got clearly visible spots on its wings. Habitat:
Urban settlement, close to small patches of jungle.
Notes:
Highly attracted to outdoor-lights, was spotted swarming around a ligthbulb and occationally crashing against the wall. After taking some pictures I introduced it to a darker area and it was not seen again.
