Field Notes

Description:

14-spotted, red-orange ladybug
Is the scientific name correct??

Notes:

This particular ladybug is quite feisty.
Here I am, trying to take a picture of it, and it decides to squirm under a clear plastic ruler. As I try to get the ruler off, it moves and the ruler moves with it. Nature can be hilarious.
Later I am still trying to photograph it and it WILL NOT STOP RUNNING. From NOTHING. It hasn't seen me, I think. If it has, I apologized to it anyway.
The only way I can get it to stop for about 3 seconds is to put some random block in front of it. Obviously nature is too smart for me because I barely got one picture!
*no ladybugs were harmed taking this photo
