Field Notes

Description:

Small clump-forming, with slender root tubers and flowering stems 20-35cm in height. Basal leaves tripartite, the leaflets shortly three to seven-lobed, densely pilose or subsericeus. Flowers up to ten per stem, lustrous yellow.

Habitat:

Stony grassland in Seih-Sou, the suburban pine forest of Thessaloniki (Greece).
Distribution: Balkan peninsula and western Turkey.
