Description:

Teucrium pruinosum is a perennial of steppes and semi-desert. The whole plant is covered by felt and therefore slightly silvery. Flower inpressive violet. Calyx lobes hooked - an important character for this species. T. pruinosum belongs to T. orientale complex that has several very close and similar species.

Habitat:

sagebrush semi-desert. and traditionally managed fields.

Teucrium is a large genus in the family Lamiaceae (mint family) comprising over 200 species worldwide, mainly found in Europe, North Africa and temperate parts of Asia. Like many members of Lamiaceae, Teucrium includes aromatic herbs and shrubs. However, plants in this genus differ from other members of Lamiaceae with one striking feature: their flower corolla completely lacks an upper lip, as can be seen in this photograph. Members of this genus are commonly known as germanders and make popular garden plants".
