Congratulations Ori, your Pruinose Groundsel is our Spotting of the Day: "Learn about the plant genus Teucrium with this beautifully violet Pruinose Groundsel (Teucrium pruinosum), our Spotting of the Day! Teucrium is a large genus in the family Lamiaceae (mint family) comprising over 200 species worldwide, mainly found in Europe, North Africa and temperate parts of Asia. Like many members of Lamiaceae, Teucrium includes aromatic herbs and shrubs. However, plants in this genus differ from other members of Lamiaceae with one striking feature: their flower corolla completely lacks an upper lip, as can be seen in this photograph. Members of this genus are commonly known as germanders and make popular garden plants".
