Privet Tortrix

Clepsis consimilana is a moth of the Tortricidae family, the male being even more indistinctly marked than the plain orange/brown female. Two small darker spots on the hind edge of the reddish-brown forewing help to distinguish this species.
It is found from Europe to Asia Minor and Syria, it is also found in North Africa and the eastern United States.The wingspan is 13–19 mm. Adults are on wing from June to September.T
he larvae feed on various trees, including Ligustrum species. They apparently prefer dead leaves. Other recorded food plants include Syringa, Hedera, Lonicera, Polygonum, Malus, Carpinus, Crataegus and Cotoneaster species.
It was spotted on a lavantula plant, in an area with several hawthorn trees, in Nea Demetrias, Volos city, Greece.
