Field Notes

Description:

A small brown weevil with vice grip and a small white stripe along its back.

Habitat:

A remnant bushland habitat.

Notes:

This insect got bored with the photo session and suddenly flew away. Some weevils cannot fly at all and I had assumed this was one of them

Love the way they hang on for dear life. Gonipterus sp. ? The one at SA gov site has a similar white stripe from memory.
