Field Notes

Description:

I found this lovely male luna moth sitting under the bench at my bus stop at about 1:30 PM. I think he was probably trying to warm himself up, because it was pretty cold and windy and it didn't look like his wings were still drying out. When I got back to the bus stop at about 3:30, he was still there. I was afraid someone would step on him, so I gently poked him until he flew away and landed in some grass. I left a note asking passers-by not to disturb him.
