Description:

Most of the Stick Insect I get are huge (larger than my whole hand) and tan/brown this one is very tiny, 2 cm, and red/orange?

Habitat:

Gallery Forest. 900 Meters-3000 feet above sea level, next to Tanaca National Park, a Pasture , and in a Garden with Endemic trees, plants and flowers of Costa Rica.

Hmmmm....I really have no idea either. But, his color is beautiful.....whatever the reason!! :)
I read where they become camoflage to their environment!! The place he has “landed” on looks like a brownish-copper colored tile? Perhaps, he has just changed his color to reflect that..... Though, he is REALLY BRIGHT!! :)
What an interesting find!! The only ones I have ever seen were dark brown.
