Field Notes

Description:

Largish green moth seen out at night.

Habitat:

In the small town of Santa Maria in Colombia.

Notes:

It would appear to be a macrotes species but there is little information on them.
I am trying to know exactly which one it is.

In this case, I suggest Macrotes sp. with adding both possible candidates in the description section. I cannot separate the two species on a safe base.
Hi Dominik. Good to hear from you. How can you tell it is that one and not Macrotes cortovaria which was the initial one suggested for me on Flickr?
Geometridae, Oenochrominae, Macrotes commatica. Nice one, Les and congrats!!!
Thanks Mark. The only moth I think I saw in the town during my stay. I had to go back to the accommodation to get my camera.
Thank you. Most of my photos from Colombia have no accurate location details.
