Field Notes

Description:

Bolete mushrooms with golden brown caps about 55mm wide. The bolete was moist to touch but not slimy. Pic #2 shows the pores on the underside.
Stipe was smooth and looked yellow.

Habitat:

Growing under pine trees

Notes:

A fungus fly can be seen sitting on one of the boletes.
Most of one of the boletes was eaten - probably by millipedes !
