Field Notes

Description:

The medium sized mushrooms are a light purple-silver color (caps). Dry, whitish gills, white stalk. good eating. In image four I took an image of what looked really strange as I walked by and when I got close-up saw three of these Russulas placed upside down on the branches of a downed tree. I figure they were placed by squirrels or something. Quite interesting to see.

Habitat:

Grassy field near deciduous trees.
