Description:

This is the female of the Glittering-bellied Emerald. It is less colourful than the male. It has a long and visible white elbow.
It is an Apodiform bird that belongs to the family Trochilidae. (Apodo means with no legs, in fact all this Order has short legs)

Habitat:

Very common in Argentina from the Buenos Aires province to the north. This picture was taken in Ribera Norte natural reserve in San Isidro, Buenos Aires.
