Field Notes

Description:

Tiny. I thought it was a miniature Skipper butterfly when I saw it on the sepals of my jasmine flowers. A closer look and I thought it was a fly with two tiny feathers for wings.

Habitat:

Potted Jasmine plant in flower. The insect was busily exploring the sepals of the flowers that had withered; ignoring the flowers nearby.

Notes:

First time I have seen a fly like this in real life.

It is, Vegetable Varieties for Gardeners :-) One of the few Global Missions that earn a special patch.
Yes, Daniele....quite a few new ones actually...including one on Vegetables growing in my garden....is that the green thumb? :)
Hi Sukanya! This is a mission patch. Have you just joined a new mission?
Hi! Why do we get the Green Thumb patch? I got one today...and I am sure it is not because I shot my thumb on a green leaf in this one. Thanks for telling me.
