Description:

Typical tree dwelling grey squirrel except it had a white tail!

Habitat:

Spotted in the garden of The Millenium Hilton, Klongsan, Bangkok

I dislike the unknown! It has a lot of characteristics of the Grey-bellied - I think you're right. Thank you Can't access the FB Group - can you tell me the Group name please?

I agree Stephen. I was only half-convinced by my own suggestion (and it is indeed only a suggestion), but it seemed the closest, especially as I found another one with a light-colored tail. Some of the other species found in Thailand are also quite variable. I'll keep it under my radar, and hopefully someone else will be able to help. On sure thing is that it is not in the genus Sciurus, which is not represented in Thailand. So I would remove it from the scientific name and leave the spotting as Unidentified. Hi Daniele - I took other photos of Callosciurus caniceps but I thought this squirrel looked different, in particular the nose
