Field Notes

Description:

About 15cm in size, brown coloration with contrasting white stripes, wide fans projecting spines and venomous spines.

Habitat:

Spotted at Sea Flores, Komodo area, Pterois is a predator native to the Indo-Pacific, preys on small fish and invertebrates, can be found around the seaward edge of reefs and coral, in lagoons, and on rocky surfaces to 50m deep.
