As gaivotas são aves marinhas e em regra geral são tipicamente cinzentas ou brancas, muitas vezes com marcas pretas na cabeça ou asas. Têm bicos fortes e compridos e patas com membranas.

Habitat:

Habitam normalmente ao pé da costa ou ao pé de rios.
