Description:

I have not yet encountered a lizard this black for the Scleropsis species. It had a blue belly and the back of it's legs was yellow. Looked like it was regrowing a lost tail.Looks like a male in breeding colors.

Habitat:

The location of your spotting would indicate the suggested subspecies. The greater species certainly does include dark specimens. Your description also fits. :-)
