Description:
This is an immature gecko, only about two inches long, which is why I'm not sure of the species. It should be the Common House Gecko, Hemidactylus frenatus, but they seem to be unmarked. However, since the young of many species have bolder markings, it could be the Common House Gecko.
Habitat:
It lived on the veranda of a house I was staying in on the northern side of Kauai, and spent a lot of time on the glass-topped breakfast table, which was ideal for getting a good look at its underside and the nifty toe pads. It was quite tame, wandering around amongst the coffee cups.
